Waseda University has continued to hold workshops with Korean Hanyang University since 2007, and has also held individual workshops with Tsinghua University, Peking University, National Taiwan University so on. Since 2018 WUHU(Waseda UKM, Hanyang, UMS ) workshops havebeen held. After a hiatus due to the Covid-19 disaster, we have decided to start the GITW (Global Information and Telecommunication Workshop), a new workshop that is a further expansion on the past workshops. The GITW will be a more global inter-university workshop in the field of ICT. For the time being, the workshop will be mainly online, and in the future it will be held in a hybrid format. One of the key objectives of the workshop is to give students an opportunity to present their achievements in English and to discuss their research topics with other universities in the world. Additionally, the faculty members can exchange academic information and promote international joint projects during the workshop. As results of this activity, wehope to promote exchanges among faculty members and students, and to use this as future proposals for foundations based upon international research cooperation. It also includes manypossibilities, such as proposals for large international research funds and international standardization activities.
